In this fun camp for K-2 kids, we will build in Minecraft and the real world. Kids will learn how to make their own Minecraft skins and texture packs, to really customize their worlds. They will also learn how to use redstone and commands to add interactivity to their builds. We will also have guided build challenges in Minecraft. For real-world stuff, kids will spend part of the day in the STEAM Lab, learning how what they do in Minecraft can translate to the real world.
When you register for this camp, a $10 Lab Fee will be added to your cart. This will cover the cost of materials used in the STEAM Lab, including several take-home projects.
This camp is specifically for kids who completed K-2 in the 2018-2019 school year. If you have an older child who is very interested, please check with us, but we do also have robotics camp for older kids this week. There is no coding or modding in this camp.
Kids should bring the following with them each day of camp:
- Nut-free lunch and snacks
- Water bottle
Camp meets daily, 9am-4pm. We will add before and after care if there’s interest, so please note in your registration if you are interested.
Kids must have their own Minecraft: Java Edition accounts for this camp. This account is required, and we cannot create accounts for your children, so please create one in advance. If you have more than one child attending this camp, each child must have his or her own account. You can purchase an account at: https://minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft/
