Roblox is an infinitely customizable online social gaming platform, and we love using it as a learning tool in our camps and clubs.
Kids love our Game Design & Coding with Roblox camp! For 2019 this camp will be held the week of July 22, for kids in grades 3 through 8. They will have a whole week to learn about Roblox, Roblox Studio, and Lua. We’ll also do “offline” Roblox-themed STEAM activities throughout the week, like creating Robox-inspired art, designing 3D objects, and more.
Roblox gameplay is a top choice for videos to create when kids participate in our many YouTube Stars programs. We offer this program as both a weekly club and a full-day camp. This summer we’ll have YouTube Stars camps the weeks of June 24 and July 29.
Gamer Club (Fridays at 6pm) kids can choose to play Roblox when they attend, and for many of them, that’s their game of choice. On any given Friday, we’ll have 5-10 kids playing the same Roblox game cooperatively. Sure, they’re playing, but they’re also interacting “in real life” while they do it. Plus they’re learning teamwork!
We use Roblox, Roblox Studio, and Code Kingdoms to teach kids how to design and code games in our Coder Kids Club (Mondays at 10:30am and Tuesdays at 6pm). Kids can use Lua to customize objects and create their own games in Roblox Studio.
