YouTube Stars & Animators Club – Wednesday Night
September 11 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until December 19, 2019
Create amazing animations, tremendous tutorials, legendary “let’s plays,” impressive interviews, top-notch tutorials, and much more. This is a self-paced club, as kids will be working on their own projects, but we will run the kids through the basics at the start of each session, and go a lot more in-depth during the first session of of each month, or whenever the kids feel like they need it.
After kids learn the basics, they will spend their time planning, storyboarding, scripting, practicing, recording, and editing their animations and videos. We usually switch between computer videos and non-computer videos every 4-6 weeks or so. While it might look like sometimes the kids are just playing video games, please note that they are actually learning how to record and narrate those games. If they are doing a group video of a game, it might require everyone in the group playing the game for a bit, to know it well enough to do the video.
This club is appropriate for kids in grades K-8.
Important: Some of the videos kids will record might require a Minecraft, Roblox, and/or FortNite account. We cannot create accounts for your child, so after a child plans a video that includes one of those games, we’ll make sure you know which account they might need. Some accounts do require a purchase with the provider of the game.
Each student needs a USB headset with microphone for this class, starting with the second session they attend. We have been testing this one: https://amzn.to/2XpNYTa. We know that particular headset works every time with our hardware and software. If you want your child to use a different headset, please make sure it’s USB, and not 3.5mm headphone and microphone jacks. Please make sure your child’s headset is clearly labeled with his or her name on it, and bring it to and from class each week when we’re working on game videos.
