Tabletop Game Design (Grades K-8) – August 3-7, 2020 – Summer Camp

$139 – $339Because of the COVID-19 situation, we have added an online option for this camp. If you registered your child for the “in-person” ticket, and would like to switch to “online,” please contact us. Online campers will have 4-6 hours of activities each day. They will spend up to 3 hours each day in our online classroom, and the rest of the time will be spent working independently on projects and other activities assigned to them. We will do our best to keep them busy for the day!
Does your child enjoy playing card games or board games? Let us show them how to make their own in this fun camp. Kids will:
- Play some board and card games to “warm up” and get ideas
- Learn about the game design process
- Create a game planner
- Come up with the objective, rules, and other elements for a card or board game
- Create a prototype of their game
- Play test other kids’ games
This camp is for kids who were in grades K through 8 during the 2019-20 school year. For this camp, we split kids up by age, but might move them around depending on enrollment and game types.
There is a $10 lab fee for this camp. This fee will not be applied to online campers; they will need to provide their own materials.
This camp is Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm. Before and after care may be available for an additional cost.
Kids should bring the following with them each day:
- A nut-free lunch and snacks
- A water bottle
