Minecraft Builders (Grades K-2) and Robotics (Grades 3-8) – August 10-14, 2020 – Summer Camp
August 10 @ 9:00 am - August 14 @ 4:00 pm$75 – $339
This week we’re running 2 topics at once!
- Minecraft Builders for Grades K-2: In this fun camp for K-2 kids, we will build in Minecraft and the real world. Kids will learn how to make their own Minecraft skins and texture packs, to really customize their worlds. They will also learn how to use redstone and commands to add interactivity to their builds. We will also have guided build challenges in Minecraft. For real-world stuff, kids will spend part of the day in the STEAM Lab, learning how what they do in Minecraft can translate to the real world. There is a $10 lab fee for this camp for children attending in-person.
- Robotics for Grades 3-8: Join us for a week of exploring, building, commanding, and programming robots. We will learn how to program robots without code, meet a robot engineer, complete challenges, engineer and program robots, and build our own robots to take home. Kids will work with a variety of robots from Ozobot, Wonder Workshop, and LEGO. There is a $50 lab fee for this camp.
Because we cannot offer robotics online, kids in grades 3-8 who wish to participate online can sign up for Minecraft Builders, and they will be placed in an age-appropriate group. Please note that they will not be modding in this camp!
We’re going to be pretty strict about the ages for this week of camp. Please contact us before you register your child up or down a grade level!
This camp is Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm. Before and after care may be available for an additional cost.
Kids should bring the following with them each day:
- A nut-free lunch and snacks
- A water bottle
- Kids in Minecraft Builders should also bring a USB headset
