Important: This course has changed! We originally were going to have the kids build a game over the course of 6 weeks, but based on student and parent feedback, we decided to make this a drop-in club where game play and design are the focus. We will add the game building class again in the spring.

Join us for the Gamer Club! Kids can drop in once, come every week, or just join in every once in a while. Each week we will explore topics in game design. We will start off with a brief discussion of the evening’s topic, and then the kids will play games that illustrate the topic. After we’re done playing, we’ll finish the night with another discussion about what the kids learned about the topic. Optional homework will be assigned!

In this session we will discuss Theme/Setting. Where does the game take place? Is there a story or narrative behind the game? We will play some games that have very specific settings and stories.
